The client: A leading financial management solutions company based in South Croydon is looking for a Collections Manager to join there very successful team. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Collections area ensuring that all targets are met and that all collection activity is carried out in accordance with the procedures laid down by the company.
Your duties will also include:- People Management
- Recruiting and selecting staff, responsibility for staff performance and development.
- Completion of staff appraisals in conjunction with the Collections Director and HR Manager
- Ensuring all staff are suitably incentivised and that targets are set and monitored
- Ensuring all people management and training needs are identified and addressed.
Operational Management
- Ensuring that all inbound and outbound activity is dealt with efficiently, effectively and professionally and that an adequate level of resource and supervisory cover is available for all shifts.
- Setting individual and team targets in conjunction with the Collections Director and analysing reports and addressing any performance issues.
Strategic Development
- Developing appropriate training programmes in conjunction with the Training and Quality Manager.
- Planning, prioritising and managing workloads to ensure the best use of human and technical resource.
Creating and driving forward any initiatives leading to increased efficiency and profitability.
- Representing the company in a professional manner and also challenging existing methods/practices and creating improvements
preferred skills
- Previous experience within debt collection essential
- Proven managing managers experience ideally within call / contact centre
- People focused
- Well organised
- Ability to liaise at all levels and work to deadlines
- Good working Knowledge of MS Word, Access and Outlook
