At Farmer, Butcher, Chef, our celebrated 2 AA Rosette restaurant nestled within The Goodwood Hotel, we offer a rare opportunity for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our dedicated brigade. As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Supporting our Head Chef and Senior Sous, you’ll lead by example, ensuring that our high standards never slip and that each dish reflects the care, craft, and creativity we pride ourselves on.
Working with outstanding organic ingredients from our own Home Farm, including award-winning meat, cheese, and seasonal produce, you’ll be responsible for:
Assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Leading and mentoring junior team members, especially during service
Managing kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs
Upholding food quality, hygiene, and presentation standards
Collaborating with our butchers and cheesemakers to craft innovative, waste-free menus
Contributing ideas for seasonal specials and menu development
This is a kitchen where sustainability, creativity, and heritage come together. Our butcher works directly with the kitchen team to influence dishes based on the cuts available, ensuring every part of the animal is respected and utilised. We’re looking for a chef with:
Proven experience at Junior Sous level or ready to step into the role
A passion for fresh, local, and sustainable cooking
Experience in high-quality restaurants or hotels
Strong leadership and communication skills
A proactive and collaborative approach to team development
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to stay calm under pressure
Above all, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for good food.
