Please read on ..... we are looking for a Relief (Seasonal / Bank ) this is a unique opportunity to make a difference, join a well-established team across our two exciting projects . Located in the heart of the Fratton and Portsea Community these projects support the Aldingbourne Trust’s values, mixing real life training, independence, positive well-being, healthy lifestyles with community collaboration. Both projects support adults with learning disabilities to develop their skills within hospitality and catering to provide a quality service to all customers, ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained, and building strong relationships with the community.

  • To serve and assist customers in the cafe and shop ensuring an excellent standard of customer service is maintained.
  • To operate the tills effectively and account for daily takings.
  • To ensure customers are greeted politely, with a warm welcome.
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness within the building
  • Maintain food hygiene standards
  • Assist with supporting people with learning disabilities to gain skills developing their independence and leading towards employment

Alongside the day-to-day Café service, you will assisting with coordinating and preparing  buffet lunches and refreshments for internal conferences, meetings and events ensuring that all catering standards are met.

  • Hours of work –  working pattern predominantly Monday to Friday however flexibility is required to include occasional evenings, and weekends. This role is to cover seasonal busy periods, sickness, holidays. 
  • Location of work - John Pound Centre, Portsea,  and MAKE, Fratton
