Have you just completed your A Levels and looking for a career path, unsure what to do?

Due to expansion, additional Trainee Claims Handlers are required to develop a long term career within the motor claims department. Training is provided for the first two year's with salary increments every 4 months to help you develop a career as a Claims Negotiator.

As a member of the Claims team you will be trained to investigate, negotiate and settle claims over a 2-year milestone training period.

You will be allocated a small number of claims to start building your own claims portfolio, which will include claims involving Credit Hire and non-serious Personal Injury.

A performance review, including a salary rise, will be awarded every 4 months for the duration of the milestone training period. The salary rise is performance related.

Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Claims Handler

  • Ensure that allocated claims are fully investigated.
  • Communicate with policyholders, solicitors and others by telephone and in writing.
  • Maintain accurate estimates on outstanding claims so the appropriate reserve can be made for each claim.
  • Work within the team to ensure that all claims are settled within appropriate time scales.
  • Work flexibly within the team, assisting colleagues wherever pressure is greatest to enhance overall team performance.
  • The role is primarily office based.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience needed by the Trainee Claims Handler

  • Experience of working in an Office Environment
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Willing to learn
  • 5 GCSE passes or equivalent (grades 4-9 / A-C), including English Language & Literature, and Mathematics
  • A level qualifications, preferably in Maths, English or Business
