Press and Digital Officer
Woking
£25,000 + Benefits 25 days holiday rising to 27 after 2 years, Pension and Parking

37.5 hour per week contract, with flexible working arrangements available. There will be some occasional out of hours working in the evenings or at weekends.

Working within the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the charity your key responsibility will be to manage the press relations for the charity. You will be the main point of contact for all press and media enquiries and will be expected to lead on specific stakeholder engagement communications campaigns and projects that are specifically designed to support brand awareness and increase engagement in specific calls to action.

You will be required to utilise all communications mediums and ensure the charities social media and digital communications are integrated as part of any campaign. You will therefore be expected to keep up with digital marketing trends and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, developing and implementing PR activities in support of the overall marketing and communications strategy
  • Stakeholder management and engagement
  • Working with and liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople
  • Liaising with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations
  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
  • Collating and analysing media coverage and digital reach
  • Writing and editing in-house and external newsletters and supporting e-campaigns
  • Photo library management
  • Leading on and coordinating photo opportunities
  • PR event management
  • Case study development and promotion
  • Keeping the website current and up to date
  • Utilising digital media to support PR campaigns
  • Other communications activities as required


Skills

  • You will be degree level educated with at least two years' experience in either a press officer or digital marketing role
  • Experience of working in the voluntary and/or not-for-profit sector would be an advantage
  • Experience of creative writing
  • Excellent press release writing skills
  • Experience of email marketing
  • Knowledge and experience of social media platforms
  • CMS experience
