An exciting opportunity is available to join our enthusiastic and well established team at Teasel Close, a young person’s home for 5 adolescents aged between 12 and 17. It has been consistently rated as Outstanding by Ofsted for a number of years.

Your role will include working directly with children and young people, individually and in groups, ensuring that their emotional, physical, educational and social needs are met, including outreach provision where required.

In addition to providing high quality support, we also work to prepare the young people for their future lives. We offer a comprehensive induction programme with on-going support and training.

You will be sensitive to the needs and rights of young people with a sound understanding of best practice in residential care. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and engage with challenging young people as well as the willingness to develop young people’s personal skills to improve working practice.

Experience in this work is desirable but not essential. Working patterns are varied with some evening and weekend working.

Please note the attached role profiles are currently titled Child Care Officers but this title is changing on 1st April 2017 to Residential Child Care Worker or Senior Child Care Worker (dependant on Grade).
