Pricing / Analysis Manager, Surrey. Up to £70,000 plus excellent benefits.

Plan the work of the Corporate Analysis team, and ensure that the analytical resource is allocated as effectively as possible.
Line management responsibility for a team of Corporate Analysts and/or Senior Analysts.
Responsible for several workstreams of the Rating Enhancements project to deliver a step change in rating capabilities.
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate pricing action is taken to ensure volume and profit targets across all products, channels and brands are met.
Develop and manage projects that support and direct the business strategy, such as risk modelling, demand modelling, loss ratio projections and lifetime value estimation.
Build a network of colleagues across the business to develop and deliver changes which will improve business performance. These could include rate reviews, reviewing the underwriting criteria, analysing the impact of website changes, and recommending changes to the case reserves.
Responsible for ensuring effective monitors are place for key aspects of business performance, such as conversion, retention, average premium, loss ratios, risk mix and rate strength.
Provide analytical support to the Pricing Committee to ensure that the right pricing decisions are made and that a profitable book of business is written.
Undertake ad-hoc project work as and when requested by other parts of the business ensuring that the results are communicated appropriately. The results provided will be used to help solve business problems and/or make strategic business decisions.
Accountability for the accuracy and relevance of the analysis carried out by the analysts under his/her supervision, ensuring that the results are communicated appropriately to Senior Management.

Experience/Skills required:
Proven track record in an analysis role, ideally gained within a General Insurance environment.
Highly computer literate with in-depth knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS). Previous experience of EMBLEM, ResQ and/or [please apply by clicking on the blue button on this web page] would be advantageous.
Proven experience of applying multivariate statistical techniques (e.g. Regression (GLMs), Clustering, CHAID) to business problems.
Good first degree (first or upper second) with substantial mathematical/statistical content, perhaps supported by an MSc or equivalent.
Previous line management experience would be advantageous.
A well-organised and logical approach, with attention to detail and good communication skills are essential as is the ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how the business works and performs.
