Semi – Skilled Shift Engineer – London (SW) - £20k to £24k + Shift allowance


Purpose of Job:
To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Repairs and site cover to buildings. Undertake repairs to building fabric, and handyman duties.


Key Responsibilities:
1 Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.

2 Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.

3 Ensure that Water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.

4 Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.

5 Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of "Maximo" task sheets.

6 Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices

7 Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.

8 To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and clients staff.

9 Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.

10 Ensure a professional image is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.

11 Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

Although the above is comprehensive many of the tasks would be within competence and Health and Safety and may just be a supporting role to the competent person.


Accountabilities:
1 Travel off site maybe required.
2 The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.
3 This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility.


Education:
• A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic
• mathematical skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge, or Basic mechanical qualifications
• Knowledge of other building services an advantage.


Experience:
• Working to Planned Preventative Maintenance Regimes,
• Knowledge of lone working requirements,
• Risk Assessment knowledge and writing.
• Experience of general Building Management Systems
• Drainage and Plumbing experience
