System Administrator – ISP / DNS – Surrey – Circa £35k

As the Systems Administrator your duties include supporting and maintaining our prestigious clients Data Centre infrastructure, including the installation and configuration of server and network hardware and the installation, configuration and maintenance of operating system software.

Suitable candidates should have demonstrable experience in:
• Monitoring software, hardware and network health using a variety of monitoring systems.
• Manage and update the ISP services
• Provide 24x7 on-call cover on a rota basis.
• Experience of Linux (preferably RedHat or CentOS) and associated technologies including Apache, BIND, Exim, MySQL, iptables.
• Experience of Microsoft Windows Server (2003 and 2008) and associated technologies including IIS, Microsoft SQL
• Knowledge of ISP services and protocols, including SMTP, POP3, FTP, DNS
• Knowledge of virtualisation techniques, in particular the Xen Cloud Platform and VMWare ESXi platform.
• A general understanding of computer and Internet security.
• Understanding of networking, TCP/IP, subnets etc.
