Title: Buying Manager
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 pa
Are you an experienced Buyer with management experience looking for a new position?
Our client, a large manufacturing company, based in East Sussex is seeking a Buying Manager to join their Central Buying Team.
The Role:
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Development and management of the supplier base to meet production target deadlines in order to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Forecasting of purchasing demands based on market trends.
• Manage ERP and MRP systems functionality and the application in material resource planning.
• Understanding of PPV performance based targets and adherence to them.
• Oversee the logistical control of parts requiring a sub-contract process.
• Development and implementation of new Purchasing Strategies for the Company.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries.
• Monitor and maintain inventory parameters consistent with inventory management guidelines.
• Administration of Utilities and other non-stock based contracts.
• Demonstrate strong expediting skills and communications skills.
• Remain composed under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
• Manage the Department and ensure all team members perform their required duties to the required standard.
• To effectively work with the Design and Development Department and take ownership with them for new product launches.
• To effectively manage the requirements for annual volume customer contracts
• To review and effectively manage the KPI requirements for the Department
Who we are looking for:
Our client's ideal candidate would have proven experience or equivalent within a similar role, be CIPS qualified or part qualified, knowledge of the purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment, have a strong understanding of ERP and MRP11 systems.
You will also need to have strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, proven man-management skills, have the ability to work under own initiative, excellent people skills and have a hands-on and pro-active approach.
